The Office of Basic Needs Initiatives at ڰAPP is dedicated to supporting students experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Our Emergency Housing Assistance program is designed to help alleviate housing instability by connecting students with available resources. Our case management services are provided with a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes your overall well-being and helps you develop the skills needed for long-term self-sufficiency.
If you find yourself without a safe place to sleep, we can connect you to community resources offering safe shelter, shower facilities, and even secure parking options for students living in their cars.
While we are dedicated to helping you connect with resources that can support your housing stability, please know that we may not be able to meet every housing need for all students who seek assistance. We’re here to help guide you through the process and connect you with as many resources as possible.
If you're facing housing insecurity, we encourage you to complete the below so we can connect you with resources and support tailored to your situation. The is now available!
For more information or to inquire about available housing resources, please reach out to us at ڰAPP_BasicNeeds@yosemite.edu.

Priority Registration will be assigned for 6 years, upon verification of homeless status.

The ڰAPP Pirate Housing Opportunity Grant (MPHOG) is reserved for student(s) who are at risk of losing their home; experiencing a brief, unexpected housing crisis or are homeless. This program is funded by Assembly Bill 74 College-Focused Rapid Re-Housing (AB 74-RRH). This is a state-funded program and current enrollment in Modesto Junior College is required; including a minimum of 9 units successfully completed.

Appeals:
For all appeals beyond reasonable doubt not stated in the possible reasons for denial, an academic performance report is required. The report will be reviewed to confirm that academic progress has been made. The student must also have met with an ڰAPP counselor, program specialist, or mentor, and must provide a detailed budget plan outlining how funds will be allocated and how they were used previously. Additional supporting documentation may be required at the discretion of the Housing Grant Committee.
Eligibility for appeals will be determined by the Housing Grant Committee using professional judgment.
If the student is seeking a second housing grant in consecutive semesters, an academic performance report will be required. The report will be reviewed to ensure the student demonstrates academic progress.
Additional supporting documentation may be required at the discretion of the Housing Grant Committee.
